CAD/CAM Programming
From a napkin sketch to proven CNC code. We create 3D models and drawings, and program toolpaths for milling and turning — for parts we machine, or for your own shop floor.

The engineering behind every good part
The quality of a machined part is decided long before the spindle starts — in how the part is modeled, how it’s held, and how the toolpaths are planned. LD Engineered does that work every day for our own machines, and we offer it as a service to customers and other shops.
Whether you need a clean 3D model to send out for quotes, a proper drawing with tolerances, or ready-to-run programs for your CNC equipment, we can help.

Who it’s for
When outside programming makes sense
Machine shops
Your programmer is backed up, out, or you’ve landed a job that needs 4th-axis or live-tool work you don’t program every day.
Product developers
You have a concept or a rough model and need production-ready CAD and drawings before sending it out for quotes.
Equipment owners
A part broke and there’s no drawing. We can model it from the sample so it can be made again — by us or anyone else.
Manufacturers
You want existing programs reviewed and optimized for cycle time, tool life or better surface finish.
Need the parts made too? Models and programs we create can go straight to our 4-axis CNC mill or live-tool lathe. For process-level help on your shop floor, see production consulting.
Frequently asked questions
Can you program parts for machines in my shop?
Yes. We can write CNC programs for your mills and lathes. Tell us the machine, control and tooling you have, and we'll deliver programs, setup sheets and tool lists to match.
Can you create a CAD model from a physical part?
Yes. We can measure an existing or worn part and model it in 3D, then produce a drawing — useful for replacement parts when the original drawings are lost or the manufacturer no longer supports the equipment.
What file formats do you work with?
STEP and IGES are the most universal formats for 3D models, and PDF or DXF for drawings. Send what you have and we'll let you know if we need anything else.
Do I have to have you machine the part to use your CAD services?
No. CAD modeling, drawings and CAM programming are available as standalone services.
